The International Wizard of Oz Club
The
premiere OZ fan club, The International Wizard of Oz Club was founded in 1957 by 13-year-old Justin Schiller. The charter
members of the club were found using the address book left by the late Oz author, Jack Snow. For over a half a century,
the club has brought together devoted fans of the OZ books, L. Frank Baum and his works, the MGM movie, and those who love
all aspects of Oz.
The club publishes its own journal, The Baum Bugle.
The Bugle features news, critical reviews, scholarly essays, trivia games, and more. Three issues are turned out each
year. The content of the Bugle is fascinating to say the least.
Members of the club also put together several regional
conventions each year. These conventions are places for fans to meet. There are several things to do including,
but not limited to, auctions, collector meets, movie screenings, dinners, panels, seminars, symposiums, costume contests,
and special exhibits.
The club is open to everyone. There are members of
all ages from all over the world. There are also several membership levels to choose from with membership dues that can suit
anyone's budget. Please visit the IWOC's Official Website to join or obtain more information. The club's website also has a large message board that is free for everyone.
